My Hobby

Hi there! 👋 I’m Mary, the creator behind Just Me Crafting (formerly Just Me Sewing).

What began as a simple love for sewing has blossomed into something so much bigger — a full creative journey that combines all the things I love: handmade crafts, design, and digital art.

When I first started, it was just me at the kitchen table, sewing for fun and sharing a few of my creations online. I didn’t expect much — maybe to earn a little extra for materials. But over time, people began to notice and appreciate my handmade pieces. Slowly, my hobby started to grow into something more meaningful and sustainable.

I’ll be honest — at first, the earnings were small. A few sales here and there. But I kept experimenting, learning, and adding new creative ideas to my shop. I tried new materials, new doll outfits, custom accessories, and even digital products like printable art and pattern files. Each new idea taught me something about what people love most and what I enjoy creating.

And now? I’m proud (and still a little amazed!) to say that what once brought me a small side income has more than doubled. My passion has truly become my business — and it’s all thanks to wonderful customers who believe in handmade art and creativity.

The Evolution from Sewing to Crafting

At first, I focused mainly on handmade doll clothes and accessories. But as my skills and interests grew, I realized that creativity doesn’t have to fit in just one box. My background in graphic design — something I’ve done professionally for over 13 years — opened the door to a new world of ideas.

That’s when I began designing digital prints, art downloads, and personalized gifts. Suddenly, I could combine traditional crafting with digital creativity — and reach people all over the world instantly!

Every product is made with care, creativity, and a love for detail. Whether it’s a tiny handmade outfit or a printable wall art design, my goal is to add a touch of joy and inspiration to your life.

A Bit of Advice for Fellow Creatives

If you’re reading this and dreaming about turning your craft into something more — you can. You don’t need a big studio, fancy equipment, or thousands of followers. What you do need is consistency, heart, and patience.

Here’s what helped me grow my creative business:

  1. Start small but stay consistent. Even one new product a week adds up over time.

  2. Share your process. People love seeing the person behind the product — your story matters!

  3. Keep learning. From photography to product descriptions, every skill you improve helps your shop shine.

  4. Diversify. Mix handmade goods with digital products — it’s a great way to balance time and income.

  5. Celebrate progress. Whether you sell one item or one hundred, every sale is a step forward.
